Alcohol and swimming often go hand-in-hand, but the combination can be disastrous and even lethal. Of course, it can be tempting for grownups to indulge in their favorite alcoholic beverages during poolside festivities. Even so, it is always advisable to practice moderation. 

Putting a damper on excessive partying when there are kids around is essential. Monitoring children requires full attention and control over all your senses and physical functions. Unfortunately, all these go out the window if you’ve had too much to drink. If you must imbibe, try to wait until the pool party finishes, and everyone is safe on dry land. 

Know Your Limits 

Finally, know your limits in and out of the water. Assessing your abilities is crucial for understanding what to do and how to react in an emergency. Make sure to stretch thoroughly before engaging in strenuous activity and resist the urge to perform tricks and feats of physical strength and endurance without prior experience or preparation.
